We have moved!

Please visit us at our new site: http://randrwithrobandryan.blogspot.com/

We are trying to blog more, but we will still bring you the same awesome podcasts.  The plan is to issue a podcast once a month between the 15th and the last day, but in the mean time we want to add content and engage you - the listener/reader - more than in the past.  We want to hear from you and we want to share the interesting articles/videos/thoughts/music and hear what you have to say.  R&R with Rob and Ryan was started to be a fun way to share thoughts and interact with more people.  We are just two abstract individuals trying to connect with more like minded people.  It is our hope that this new blog site will achieve that.  The reason that we couldn't use this site is because there was no freakin' way I was going to give Ryan the password to my email address.  Lord knows he would have just fucked around and sent incendiary emails to the ends of the Earth and I just was not going to let that happen.  So now we have a joint account and you can expect to read from us once a week and hear us spout some shit once a month.

Keep on keeping on.

On this episode our fearless heroes tackle the topic of FEAR. They begin by trading their views on the existence of ghosts and then follow it up with an explanation of the true reasons why humans enjoy being scared. They cover horror movies, movies that scared them as children, and then they deftly transition into discussing Rob’s deep seeded fear of being chased by angry, living gnomes. After an exhausting foray into all things that strike fear into the heart of humans, the guys wrap it up by covering the most real and persistent fear of all: mankind and the twisted real people who wander this earth. Show Notes: The family from Kansas that killed people in the 1800's. They were known as the Bloody Benders and - as of resarching this - I found out that Guillermo Del Toro will be making a movie about them. The How Stuff Works podcast Stuff You Missed in History also did an excellent podcast about them. It's a horrific story and one sure to chill your blood.

The truck driver serial killer. OK just LOOK at this guy! I mean, would YOU ever ride with him? Once you see this picture and read this story, you will likely find yourself double checking the page source of the article to make sure you're not reading fiction. It's another horrific tale, but one that began unraveling in May 2012. That's right.

Hitchhiker Killer

I love scary movies of (almost) all kinds. There is a ton more that I would like to discuss regarding fear and movies. If I think of something specific, I will leave a comment. If you have anything you would like to share with us, feel free to leave a comment or email us.

Episode 10: Friendship - Blood in, Blood out

On this week's episode, our heroes, aka "The Superfriends", discuss the beginning, middle, and end of friendships. How do adults make friends and why it is ridiculously difficult to do so? Ryan describes the worst places to make friends (Spoiler Alert: they all involve the word "clinic") and Rob discusses how gambling is the best way to make friends. Then Ryan talks about the often misunderstood beauty of friends with benefits organically followed by the subject of Alzheimer's. Rob gives strategies on how to best end a friendship (Ryan doesn't take the hint). Later, Rob covers his WTF Moment of the Week: Standing in the Whole Foods line behind a major social contract breaker.

R&R w/Rob and Ryan: Awkward Moments at the End of the World

On this week's episode, our heroes discuss their predictions of the future. How will the earth end assuming that we make it past 12/21/12? Rob predicts that global warming will lead to earth-destroying radioactive monsters (and it sounds semi-feasible). Ryan discusses the awkwardness of last day phone calls after a mega volcano explodes (do you feign interest in someone who has a crush on you just so they don't die sad?). Then Ryan and Rob walk through a day in the life of a 20 something young professional, 10 years in the future. Spoiler alert: days entail printing foods, promiscuity, and pooping. Later, Ryan covers his WTF moment of the week: getting beaten up by a 12 year old during a Blue Man Group show.

R&R with Rob and Ryan: Occupy against Douchebags and Turtlenecks!

On this week's episode, our heroes discuss the importance (and sometimes lack thereof) of social movements. Rob discusses his campaigns to "Stop Occupy Movements" and his push for policies to make it illegal to be a douchebag (estimated 1 year must be served for using "YOLO"). Ryan moves to bring an end to discriminatory practices by increasing the severity of sentences. Additionally he is willing to campaign against women's rights to wear capris pants and turtlenecks. If you want to help bring an end to the reign of douchebags and the ridiculousness of women wearing capris pants & God-forsaken turtlenecks, support R & R with Rob and Ryan in next year's elections.

R&R with Rob and Ryan: 80's Action Movie Spectacular!

On this week's episode, our heroes discuss the all time greatest genre of film: 80s action movies. Rob discusses the "best" actor of all time, Steven Segal, in the prime of his career performing in the film, Marked for Death. Ryan successfully(?) defends his belief that Commando is the greatest movie of all time. Our heroes argue about the 80s action character that would be the worst to grab a beer with (spoiler alert: Rob's choice doesn't drink and Ryan's choice is pregnant). Finally, Rob explains his theory that Snake Pliskin, from Escape From New York, would be the worst father ever to answer the door as you wait to pick up your prom date, his daughter.
